Most important meta-finding

Strict triple-verification (≥3 independent directly-fetched sources) eliminates most claims that would normally populate a competitive-sentiment report. The result is honest “below detection threshold” verdicts for 13 of 16 tracked startups.

This is itself a buyer-signal: the AI ITSM startup category does not yet have a community footprint big enough for vendor-substantive practitioner discussion to triangulate.

6 themes that pass triple-verification

  1. Now Assist OOTB skills underdeliver for tier-1 incidents. Multiple ServiceNow Community threads (GChanner, KennethPang, others).

Serval, Console, Edra, STLabs, Treeline, Risotto, Ravenna, Siit, Echelon, Modern, ClearFeed, Wrangle, QueryPal, Atomicworkall below detection threshold in directly-fetchable sources.

Moveworks / Aisera HN footprint is dominated by acquisition news; substantive practitioner sentiment is thin even for the two most-funded competitors.

Specific vendor deflection-rate claims (e.g. “75% deflection”) neither survive nor fail practitioner scrutiny — the scrutiny itself is largely absent from accessible communities.

Methodology constraints (transparent)

Hard-blocked or auth-walled: Reddit, Spiceworks, G2, Gartner, Discord, LinkedIn — all blocked from this research harness.

Primary evidence: HN Algolia API + ServiceNow Community forum (both directly fetched).

Explicitly excluded: WebSearch result summaries — flagged ^[search-summary-unverified] and excluded from triangulated claims. Those are downstream LLM paraphrases, not verbatim primary-source text.

  • A repeat scan via interactive browser (Reddit r/sysadmin, G2 reviews) would expand coverage beyond the HN + ServiceNow Community surfaces used here.
